Özet
Mucinous eccrine carcinoma is one of the slow growing malignant tumor of skin adnexia and involves especially the periorbital regions. It occurs in adults over 50 years old. However, it may be locally aggressive and can metastasize to lymph nodes. Differential diagnosis especially from metastatic mucinous carcinomas of other organs such as breast, gastrointestinal tract, lung, prostate and ovary may be laborious both morphologically and immunohistochemically. We report a 70 years old male with a slow growing mass in the upper left eyelid. He had the mass for two years, and it became prominent especially in last six months. The tumor cells was PAS, alcian blue at pH 2,5 positive while alcian blue at pH 1 was negative. In immunohistochemical study showed positive pancytokeratin and cytokeratin 7, S100, and carcino embryonic antigen expression. Cytokeratin 20 and thyroid transcription factor-1 were negative. Tumor cells also showed estrogen and progesteron expression. The morphologic, histochemical and immunohistochemical features of the lesion may be helpful in differantiation from metastatic mucinous adenocarcinomas is discussed.
