Deli bal zehirlenmesi Türkiye'de Doğu Karadeniz bölgesinde eskiden beri bilinen nadir bir gıda zehirlenmesi nedenidir. Zehirlenmede hipotansiyon ve bradikardi en sık görülen semptomlardır. Zehirlenmeden sorumlu olan grayanotoksin(andromedotoksin), rhododendron türü yaban çiçeklerinden arıların elde ettiği balda yoğun olarak bulunan bir toksindir. Bu çalışmada deli bal alımı sonrası hayatı tehdit edici hipotansiyon ve bradikardi semptomlarının geliştiği 42 yaşında erkek olgu sunuldu. Ülkemizde görülen deli bal zehirlenmeleri olgularının hemen tamamı Karadeniz bölgesinden bildirilmiştir. Sunulan olgu, bilindiği kadarıyla Güneydoğu Anadolu bölgesinden bildirilen ilk olgudur. Olgu dolayısıyla toksik potansiyeli olan bu bal türünün erken tanı ve acil tedavi yaklaşımına dikkat çekildi. Anahtar Kelimeler: Atropin, Bradikardi, Deli Bal, Grayanotoksin, Hipotansiyon Mad Honey Poisoning: A Case Report and Review of the Literature Mad honey intoxication is the cause of a rare food poisoning which has been known from ancient times in the Eastern Black Sea region of Turkey. The most frequent symptoms of the intoxication are hypotension and bradycardia. The poisoning is due to the concentrated grayanotoxine(andromedotoxine) content of the honey made by the bees from the wild flowers of the rhodendron species. In this study, we presented a case of a 42-year-old man showing life threatining symptoms of hypotension and bradycardia following the ingestion of andromedotoxine. Almost all of the andromedotoxine poisoning cases in our country were reported from the Black Sea region. The presented title seems to be a first case reported from Southeast coast of Turkey. Thus, the case focused on the potential toxicity of this type of honey and its early diagnosis requiring prompt therapy. Key Words: Atropine, Bradycardia, Mad Honey, Grayanotoxine, Hypotension
