Partially Ruptured Anterolateral Papillary Muscle in a Patient with Right Coronary Artery Occlusion

Özet


A 41-year-old man was diagnosed with cardiogenic shockdue to acute inferior myocardial infarction. Cardiogenicshock was the result of acute severe mitral regurgitationbecause of partial anterolateral papillary muscle rupture.Coronary angiography revealed a total occlusion of proximalright coronary artery (RCA), a plaque in the left anteriordescending artery trunk just after the first diagonal branch and normal circumflex artery. The patient wastransferred to operating room for valve replacement.Intraoperatively partial rupture of anterior papillary muscleve prosthesis and vein graft was placed on the RCA. Thepatient did not recover after the surgery and died becauseof cardiogenic shock 5 days after the operation.
